The Highfields sub branch was authorised by Charter, issued by the Queensland Branch of the league on 11 November 2004.

The inaugural meeting of the, newly formed, sub branch was held at the Highfields Tavern also on 11 November 2004. The 11 November ( Remembrance Day ) was chosen for the establishment date of the sub branch as a mark of respect to the 100's of Thousands of Australians who have paid the supreme sacrifice in the defence of Australia, and to all our brothers and sisters in arms who still suffer the trauma of war or who still defend this great country.

Meetings of the sub branch are held each month, at the Highfields Tavern, CNR Highfields and O'Brien Roads (next to the Highfields Shopping Center). Dates for meetings will be published on this site or can be obtained from the Secretary.
